Booth Pass

Privacy Policy

Booth Pass · The Booth MKE, LLC · Effective September 4, 2026 · Updated October 9, 2026 (photo sharing permission)
The short version. Booth Pass keeps the photos you take at a Booth in one place, lets a Booth greet you by name, lets you play group games at a Booth, and lets you vote in contests by picking a backdrop. We collect only what that takes. We don't sell your information, and you can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings.

Who we are

Booth Pass is operated by The Booth MKE, LLC ("The Booth", "we", "us"), a photo booth company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Questions about this policy go to ben@theboothmke.com.

What we collect

We do not use ad trackers, and we do not collect precise location from your phone. The map in the app shows where the Booths are, not where you are.

How we use it

Who can see your photos

Connect cards

You "met" someone if you were in the same Booth Play photo session. You can give your card to any of them, one person at a time, and choose which links each person sees. Nobody can request your card, and nobody sees it unless you give it. You can take a card back at any time; they then see nothing. Giving cards is open during the event and for 7 days after. Connect cards are for adults only and are never available on a light Pass. You can block or report anyone; reports go to The Booth team for review. We never share your email or phone number through a connect card.

Faces at the Booth

To frame your photo and cut out the background, the Booth works out where faces are in the camera image. This happens on the Booth itself while your photo is being made. It does not recognize who you are, and no face measurements are stored. The one exception is the Wanted game: if you choose to take a selfie for it, the Booth compares it with the group photo once to put your name on your poster, then discards the comparison. You can skip the selfie and still play. Booth Pass knows a photo is yours because you checked in or claimed it, not from your face.

We will not use a photo that shows your face in our own advertising, or a venue's or sponsor's, unless you agree to it in writing (for example by ticking a box that says so). Taking a photo is not that agreement.

Photos used to promote The Booth or a venue. We, or the venue where a photo was taken, use it to promote ourselves only if you switched that on for that photo in Booth Pass. The switch is never on by default, is separate from getting your photos, and is only for people 18 and older: if the birth month and year you gave when you signed up show you're under 18, it isn't offered until the month after you turn 18 (we keep only that month, not your birth date). If you gave your Instagram handle with it, we or the venue may tag you. We save your choice, the exact wording you saw, the time, the photo it applies to, and the device and network address it came from. Your permission covers what the switch describes (the booth screen, our and the venue's websites, and our own social posts), not paid ads, which need your separate OK. You can withdraw it at any time in My Photos or Settings, or by emailing ben@theboothmke.com. We then stop new use, remove our posts and booth-screen use, and ask the venue to remove its posts, all within 3 business days. We keep the record of your choice while the photo is in use and for 6 years after, then delete it.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run Booth Pass, and they only process data on our behalf:

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with sponsors or venues in identifiable form. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account, photos, check-ins, and votes stay as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and then discarded. A light Pass that is never upgraded is deleted after 30 days without use; its photos stay in the event gallery like any other guest photo. If you delete your account, we remove your account record, detach your photos from it, take back every connect card you gave and erase your card, and anonymise your check-ins and votes, so contest totals stay accurate without pointing back to you. Photos stay in the event's gallery and archive as they would for any guest; email us if you want those deleted too.

Your choices

Children

A full Booth Pass is not intended for children under 13, and we ask for a birth month and year before creating one. Kids can still join Booth Play with a light Pass, which collects only a nickname, and anyone can get their photos from the Booth's QR code without an account. If you believe a child under 13 has created a full pass, email us and we will remove it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Sign-in links and pass codes are single-use and expire. Access to stored photos and account data is limited to the people and systems that need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
